Cancer Nutrition

Evidence-based cancer nutrition during treatment and beyond

Cancer and its treatments can place significant demands on the body. During treatment and recovery, appropriate nutrition and lifestyle strategies can help support your body, enhance resilience, and improve quality of life.

I provide personalised, evidence-based nutrition support designed to complement, not replace, your medical treatment. My work is carefully aligned with your oncology team’s care, taking into account your diagnosis, treatment plan, medications, and overall health.

Personalised cancer nutrition can help to:

Enhance Recovery from Surgery - supporting the body’s healing processes taking into account energy needs,

tissue repair, digestive function and overall resilience during recovery.

Support Treatment Tolerance & Recovery - helping to maintain strength and nutritional status during treatment

while addressing the wide range of physical and metabolic changes that treatment can bring.

Improve Quality of Life - helping to reduce the side effects of treatment and support energy, digestion, sleep,

blood sugar balance and overall wellbeing throughout treatment and beyond.

Support Long-Term Health - developing sustainable nutrition and lifestyle strategies that support metabolic health,

inflammation balance, immune resilience and long-term recovery, including reducing risk of reoccurance.

Whole Body Approach

My work is informed by advanced training in integrative oncology, including study under Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel’s systems approach to cancer care.

This framework looks beyond the tumour and considers the wider biological environment in which cancer develops and recovery takes place. That includes metabolic health, inflammation, gut function and nutrient absorption, immune resilience, stress physiology, sleep, and overall lifestyle patterns.

Rather than focusing on isolated nutrients or single interventions, this approach considers how multiple systems interact - and how nutrition and lifestyle can safely support your body’s capacity to cope with treatment and recovery.

Whether in treatment or recovery, your diagnosis, medical history, current treatment plan and prescribed medications are always carefully reviewed and recommendations are designed to complement, not replace, your oncology care.
